Our Aims

Objective

The objective of the ‘English Tea House’ will be to showcase English Heritage and a taste of British Tradition.

In order to achieve this we will serve traditional cream teas, with a variety of fresh cakes, a selection of traditional teas, fruit teas, coffee and traditional english soft drinks. All food and hot drinks to be served using china crockery.

Within the ’English Tea House’ we will also sell sweets, souvinier badges and a cook book of Traditional English Recipes.

We are not looking to run a commercial business for ourselves, we are looking at the profit to go back into the Scout Movement.

Our Vision

The ‘English Tea House’ will be in the style of an English Tea House at a Local Village Fete or Fair based in a Marquee in a small garden entering through an arch of roses. The marquee will be open on one side and will be decorated in a floral style with framed scenes of English culture.

Garden tables & chairs will be placed inside and outside the marquee and on each table there will be a patterned plastic table cloth with a small floral centrepiece.

There will also be bales of hay scattered around outside for more informal seating areas.

In the background English music will be played, the serving staff to be dressed in co-ordinated attire.

The serving area to have cakes displayed on doilies with covers or in a display case, cakes to be served with tongs. Various teas displayed with some china built into a display with various nic nacs around.

Service will be at a serving counter with a till at the end. For those items that require additional preperation, customers will be given a numbered wooden spoon and then a waiter/waitress will take it to them when ready. Customers to return trays to a central collection point.
